The Applesauce Factory

My cousin mentioned that she wanted to learn how to can, so I welcomed the help last week for a big batch of applesauce. She and her daughter were great workers (and good sports) as we pretended to work in as slaves in a factory. The applesauce turned out fantastic (thanks Stella!) and quite green, but I guess that's what happens when you use green apples. Seth says we'll call it Applesauce Verde.

Hmmmm. When I was little, my mom made an oat-cinnamon-sugar-flour mixture, held together with a little melted butter, and kept it in the fridge. We used to sprinkle it on top of homemade applesauce and stick in in the microwave for a few seconds--presto, psuedo-apple-crisp for snack! Love your photography of the bottles, by the way--looks professional.
